The Discipleship Training School (DTS) is a two-part discipleship course which serves as an introduction to global missions.
LECTURE
The first 3 months of the DTS, commonly called the “lecture phase”, will be spent at YWAM HCMC. The goal is to know God through speakers, community and friends. They will also spend time weekly engaging in worship, prayer, and developing skills and passions of their choice to see how they can be used in missions.
OUTREACH
The second phase of the DTS will be spent on a 2-3 month outreach. This phase allows students to practice everything they just learned and to share the good news of Jesus Christ cross-culturally. Outreach will provide students with a glimpse of cross-cultural missions as their team serves alongside local believers, existing ministries, and long-term missions workers.

DTS LEADER
Van had a dream about becoming a missionary and going out on a white boat many years ago. God made it happen on her DTS in YWAM Baguio in 2015. She continued as a full time mission worker at the base until she moved back to Vietnam and joined YWAM HCMC in 2019. She likes fruits, especially avocado and banana and loves her nephews. She is passionate about God and wants to know Him more daily. She loves DTS and business Her dream is to open a coffee for mission in the future.
CASSANDRA & DANIEL
DTS STAFF
Cassandra was introduced to YWAM by her youth pastor and did her DTS at YWAM Mazatlan in 2006. Daniel read a YWAM book from his church library and did DTS in 2013. They got married in 2018 and have been serving as full-time staff in YWAM HCMC since then. They are also members of the Asia & Pacific International DTS Center team. They like watching movies and playing board games. They just had their first child, Lydia, in 2020.
